Ok, I figured out how to make my DVD player region free (changed from region 2) (Daewoo DV-500ES) and the dvd (Region 1) will play but there is no sound. I am wondering is there anything I am not getting......

  1. rigging the player itself is always a bit dodgy and can affect your warranty, best to buy a multi region one in the first place. Also easier to use a pc, as many programs eg DVD genie can alter the region code of the player.

  2. The only time I have ever had a sound problem is when the scart lead is very slightly lose at the back. If you have been pullling your dvd player out to re program then the cable may have come out a bit. It only needs to be ever so slight to make a problem. SO I know it sounds basic but give your cables a good firm push in, both tv and dvd ends.
