Sony players are usually not easy to make region free. I searched the internet and found this information -

Download "Novii remote deluxe" from a site of the manufacturer http://www.novii.tv .

Install novii remote in yours PocketPC or Palm.

Install to (move to) 'novii folder'/Codebases/ file 'DVD_sony_0.pdb'.

Power on your player without a disk (the tray is closed).

Start on yours PocketPC(Palm) the program 'novii remote'.

Select 'DVD_sony_0'. Direct the infra-red port your PocketPC(Palm) on dvd-player.

Press the buttons "1","2","3","4","5".

Your player is multiregion.

I have not tried it so I am not sure of it. Try it at your own risk.
