hmm... you might be very much out of luck for getting firearms into Taiwan for your personal use.

heres a quote from a 2004 Time article I dug up (i wasnt able to access the full article, I didnt bother registering with them, it confirms what I thought..)

(its the ministry of justice's english website with a smattering of translated laws upon it. you probably can ask for a translated version of the importation rules there...)

my gut feeling is you wont be permitted to bring your gun into the country past the airport security. but perhaps the ministry of justice can illuminate you. you wont need a gun in Taiwan, its very safe (likely because gun rules here are so strict.) It is very likely if you attempt to bring guns in, you will face the death penalty.
