Question:

Registering an out-of-state car in California, title and registration in father's name.

I understand that the car is not mine, and it belongs to my father. I've read some stuff on here about a Power of Attorney allowing my dad to sign a form that permits me to register the car in another state. Can someone tell me more about that? Where do I acquire that form? Is it going to raise the insurance?

Thanks.

  4. A POA will not allow you to register someone elses vehicle in another State. The title needs to be changed to that State to be able to register it there.
