I've registered for the basics....towels, toys, clothes, bibs, a stroller, crib, etc. - what are some things I shouldn't leave out on a gift registery? What are some things you received that turned out to be a lifesaver, or at least a lot of fun?

  1. I had a baby capsule (which is suitable from birth until about 6 months of age) which clipped onto my pram, which was a godsend.  Its called a travel system and it meant that I didn't have to move or wake my son if he was asleep in the car, I just unclipped the capsule and clipped it into the pram if I was going out or carried it inside if I was going home.

The brand I had a Baby Love but I've attached the link to the Graco website which has a travel system which is similar (http://www.gracobaby.com/products/catego...

  2. Sleepsacks, changing pad covers (a few), extra crib sheets, sheet savers.   I think it's called a piddle pad.....it protects your car seat from leaky diapers.  Cuticle nippers work GREAT for those tiny finger nails....not those horrible clippers.

  3. snuzzler--wonderful

boppy and covers---wonderful whether breastfeeding or bottle feeding, saves your arms and back and can be used for tummy time, with a giggle gadgets cover, or for help sitting up, or lying in like a donut when they are really small..

baby health care kit--no ear thermometer, get an arm and rectal all in one digital, hair brush, baby tylenol and mylicon..zinc oxide for diaper rash, or desitin

    changing pad covers

    diapers

    bottles and nipples

    pacifiers

wipe warmer--most ppl hate them but ours works wonderfully

    car seat

    furniture--grandparents like to splurge

    stroller

    toys

    books

    baby book

    bottle brushes and drying racks

    formula if using

    baby bjorn with lumbar support

    bumbo with play tray

euro primo bath tub...it's the BEST!!

diaper genie 2....no matter what anyone says, mine is a godsend..

    and refillssss

dont waste money on a bottle warmer, we got the most recommended one and it was c**p

  4. Diapers, baby wipes, bottles, diaper genie, baby swing, video camera, wipe warmer inexpensive CD player and lullaby CD's. Seriously, a friend of mine registered for EVERYTHING-- like 12 packages of diapers, wipes, powder, etc. I mean, those things are expensive if you have to buy them yourself! And guess what everyone gave her? Diapers and wipes PLUS clothes and toys. Everyone wants to give the fun gifts, so register for the practical things! Maybe when you have your shower, you could haev the host request that everyone bring one baby care item in addition to their gift. This item should be less than $5.00 and could be nail clippers, q-tips, tissues, hand sanitizer (for changing diapers on the go!), powder, shampoo, lotion, etc.

  5. You need a first aide kit for sure, if you haven't put that on, you need to. Do you have a place to keep all the little toys? We needed to buy baskets to keep her stuff in so that it wasn't just laying all over the house. My husband bought a clip that attaches the pacifier to the baby's bib. It has been one of the most useful things we have. You can always go to a baby store and walk around and look at everything. They have so much stuff now it's crazy. Good luck!

  6. The place where you registered should have a "Must Have" list where they make sure to list everything from the smallest little things to the large furniture. Very useful!

I've been told that the "Boppy" is a must have even for non-breastfeeding mothers! Also, don't forget safety items for the home like outlet covers etc.

  7. Her "Bumbo".  It a litle seat thing that she can sit up in early and you can get a tray for it so she has toys to play with in front of her.  It's also become where she likes eating instead of hauling out the high chair.

  8. Her bouncy chair was one of the best things we got. We did not register for it, thinking we wouldn't need it but we did!! Our daughter loved it!

Don't forget to register for bottle/nipple brushes, bottle drying rack, sectioned bowls for feeding, spoons and Gromming kit (scissors, nail clippers, files, thermometer, medicine dropper, etc).
