Registering to vote?

I never registered. I never had to. The government presumably registered for me somehow. Anyway, they registered me in the wrong side of the country, so in order to vote I have to travel all the way across Ireland just to make a tick on a slip of paper. It's Ireland so it's only a 2 and a half hour train ride to get there, but I'd still rather not. How do I fix their s***w up?

you do have to register..when the electoral roll cards come through the door fill them out and you will have the correct details and be able to vote

If you're ANYWHERE legally in the UK it is a requirement that you register with your local council so that you go on the electoral register AND pay your council tax!

If you're like me and you come from a small town, someone probably just checked with your mother and registered you when you turned 18 but it's down to you, not some outside agency, to ensure that you've registered correctly & in the place most convenient for you.
