Registration Fees for Horse Shows...Expensive?

Question

I'm going to a big recognized horse show in about three weeks, and it will be my first one. Its three days long, and I'm hoping I can get some points to qualify for Regions and Junior Riding Shows and End of the Year Awards.

Anyways, has anybody else noticed how expensive it is to register with all the associations?

I renewed my USDF, registered my horse for a lifetime in USDF, joined USEF, and registered my horse for life in there as well.

I think all the registration fees cost more than the actual show :P

Yes it is expensive.

Just think of all the prize money though.
