Registration deadline for USAV HP Coaches’ Clinic – Volleyball Latest
The USA Volleyball has recently announced the deadline for registration for the upcoming 2012 USAV HP Coaches' Clinic.
The aspiring coaches can get them registered not later than Monday, December 19. The information has been released from the head quarters of USAV in Colorado Springs. According to the set plan of USAV, the three-day coaches’ clinic will take place from January
19-21, 2012. The United States Olympic Training Centre in Colorado Springs will provide the backdrop for this whole activity.
It has been seven successful years that USAV is giving this wonderful learning opportunity to coaches via coaches’ clinics. The US Olympic Training Centre is the equipped venue, which has served as the perfect site for HP clinics since 2004. The training
centre has been especially designed for such purposes. It has intimate setting to hold 180 athletes and coaches together.
The USA Volleyball High Performance Coaches’ Clinics create chance for great coaching minds to get together and share their knowledge of the game. The participants exchange most current, critical and other important issues in the sport.
Wide range of topics is discussed and, in past, ideas such as the men’s versus women’s game, sports psychology, uses of technology and drill ideas have been dragged under attention. National Team Members, All-Americans and local club athletes have given
various presentations in this regard.
The mentor of Illinois University Women’s Volleyball Programme, Kevin Hambly, will be the highlight of the coaches’ clinic. He will serve as the headline speaker. In the recent years, many of the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Team coaches, international
coaches, USAV High Performance Pipeline Coaches and USAV Region High Performance coaches have served as speakers at the HP clinics.
Hambly comes with a wealth of experience. He has recently led his team (Fighting Illini) to reach the finals of 2011 NCAA Tournament. Sadly, the team could not live the dream of holding it first ever national title and dropped the final match to UCLA. Nevertheless,
it was great success for Illini to make it to the final showdown of the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
Other than that, Hambly has served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Women’s National Team that finished fourth at the 2004 Olympic Games. He also served as head coach of the U.S. Women’s National Training Team for quite some time. It will be a great chance
to catch the experienced coach at the 2012 HP Coaches’ Clinic.
