Registration of marriage in malaysia and USA?

i am a malaysian and i am going to marry a US citizen. we are going to register our marriage in malaysia first. so, do we have to go to the USA to register our marriage too? or is it sufficient enough to update my hubbie's current marital status at the US embassy in malaysia?

If you're going to get married in Malaysia, then it should be registered there. There's no need to register it in the US for immigration purposes or any other reason I can think of.

No, US also recognizes marriage registered from other countries, you need to have it translated and notarized in case it's issued in language other than English.
