  1. If you go to www.askmid.com you can find out if the car is insured or not

  2. Become a stalker.  DVLA will tell you if you fill in their application form and pay a fee, but only a for a genuine reason, such as a hit and run in a car park where the police aren't interested. They won't tell you for a "social" reason.

  3. Provided you have a good reason for wanting to know the DVLA will release the details to you.

Acceptable reasons are there has been an accident, you wish to buy their registration plate etc.

Go to the DVLA website for more info.

  4. i don't think you can unless you know someone with access to the police database and thats not strictly legal!

  5. DVLA will release information to anyone with "reasonable cause" for requiring such information, generally for road safety related issues, tracing the owner of a car left on private land without permission, and so on.

There is a list of reasons which have been accepted as "reasonable cause" in the past here:

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Own...

  6. I'm sure something called the 'Data Protection Act (1988)' is in place to stop you from aquiring information like that.

I think its a waste of time and pointless to know what registeration # somebodys car has. Then again everybody has their reasons for wanting to know certain things heh.

  7. really... the only way is to linger outside the car until the owner goed 2 get in it...   unfortunatly, unlike switzerland- there is no published book as to who owns what car, so you cant really find out
