02 Honda CBR929 Salvage title?

I am looking into buying an 02 CBR929 I have recently found one but it has a salvage title. Insurance claimed full loss on the bike due to a crash. the bike looks fine and sounds fine but the guy wants 5000 for it. I dont think it is worth that much with a salvage title i figured it would be worth no more than 2500 dollars if that. Could you please give me a little insight on this situation. I have never delt with salvage titles before and im not sure exactly how to go about this. Should i try to talk him down. If he wont go down should i look elsewhere?

You are right, I would expect to pay 2500-3500 for it but not 5000. If you can’t talk him down, might as well look elsewhere. Try looking into cycletrader.com or craigslist.com
