What is the invariant?

Answer 1

Given:  Y = (-1/2)X + 7

Switch X & Y:  X = (-1/2)Y + 7

Solve for Y by subtracting 7:  X - 7 = (-1/2)Y

Solve for Y by dividing by -1/2:  14 - 2X = Y

Write in standard form:  Y = -2X + 14

Remember  to test your results.
