  1. Rhino's onto it. Generally our muscle types are based on genetics and inherited characteristics. Black skinned humans have more fast twist muscles. It is also to do with location and environment you live. The Kenyans mostly come from one area and live at altitude and as kids run around the place which makes them great distance runners. Also today you can make some money in the sport and for poorer people their drive to improve there position in life drives them to train harder and be more determined about it then us first world people. I think some peoples develop earlier like polynesians (maybe the same for blacks) which means they have a head start on late developing white people and perhaps puts a lot of us off carrying on.

  2. There are two broad types of voluntary muscle fibers: slow twitch and fast twitch. Slow twitch fibers contract for long periods of time but with little force while fast twitch fibers contract quickly and powerfully but fatigue very rapidly.  If you have a greater percentage of fast twitch muscles, you'll be a better sprinter.  If you have a greater percentage of slow twitch muscles, you'll be a better marathoner.

  3. just watch, craig pickering is gonna smash the world record

  4. the more white muscle fibers, the faster you can go.

  5. Sorry, don't have time to go into the science of it, but Jason Leach supposedly ran a 9.99 at the University of Texas awhile back (10-12yrs?).
