11 day old canary?

Question

my 11 day old canary as a large yellow lump on the side of its neck its been there for about 2 days its at the vets on monday does any one know what this could be thanks to all that answer

Hi,

To me it sounds like its the birds crop, inother words its its stomach and is nothing to worry about, it is yellow because of food which the parents are or have been feeding it. Birds aren't like humans and don't have an internal stomach theirs is on their throat/neck area.

The crop is just under the neck and that is like our stomachs and where the bird stores its food.

If it is directly under its head than a full crop means it is eating well and nothing to worry about.

don't worry!!!!!it's normal!!!! also my little canary had a yellow lump when his parents gave him food! when he is 20 he will leave his home, instead when he is 25, he will eat lonely! good luck! break your leg! :-)
