  1. When we colonize Mars, science predicts that humans could eventually evolve to somewhere between 8'-12', due to the lesser gravitational pull on Mars!

  2. Not unless they are living in a low gravity environment.

I read a very good article written by a doctor as to why you don't get bipeds over 9ft, their leg bones would have to be so thick to support them they wouldn't be able to move, and there would be problems with circulation and foot size.

  3. Not really very likely.  Weight is proportional to volume.  Volume is three dimensional and height is one dimentional.  A 12 foot man with the same proportions as a 6 foot man will weigh 8 times as much yet his bones will only be twice as thick in diameter or only 4 times as much in area.   These mathmatical principles make growing that large very unlikely.

  4. The tallest known human was just under 9 feet tall. That's three feet short of your number. The tallest living human is "only" 8 feet 5 inches, or 8'4" or 7'9" depending on sources.

Giantism is defined at being 20% over the norm. With the average American male height of 69" a 12 foot human would be 100% over the norm. The condition is caused by over production of human growth hormone. It's accompanied by lots of medical problems involving the organs and the bones. "the most frequent causes of death are cardiovascular and respiratory complications."

Most die before reaching middle age.

It would seem reasonable that adding three feet would significantly increase the mortality age. Normally giantism occurs quickly with the person adding as much as 6 inches in a year. This places stress on the entire body and I'd questioned how well a 12 foot human would do.
