Okay so I just wanted to ask a question.

Do you think that 14 is too young to have a small glass of wine at dinner? I know the Italians do it but I wanted to know. Its not meant in a to be drunk way. Its meant in a proper way. And I also heard red wine is good for you.

  1. In today's world in America

    IT is illegal Period

you  are subject to jail time

    BUT

a truly responsible youth and a good reason like Thanksgiving and Christmas your not going to get caught..

every day dinner,, Not a good Idea..

  2. No. Im italian. and my parents ushually always let me have a glass of wine or so.

Yeah its good for your heart or something haaa.

  3. No, it's not.

  4. Drink a glass of grapejuice, it has some of the same effects for heath.

If you are in the US its too young, if you are outside of the US, in the UK and such, its allowed.

  5. The legal drinking age is the proper age (in the USA it's 21). 14 is way too young. Just don't do it.

  6. If your parents are okay with it, and if it's acceptable in your culture or family in general I really don't think 14 is too young, as long as it really is limited to one (not much more than that) glass and as long as its kept at the dinner table.  Italians have wine with dinner frequently, and its not unusual for them to introduce it to children by mixing it with sodas.

Wine can promote good heart health, especially red wine.

It is important, however, to remember that while many people drink to get drunk at an early age (heck, even I did at 15) it's not always a good idea.  Whether you and your family agree with it or not, it is illegal, so you do need to keep it calm and on the downlow.

    Buon appetito!

  7. nope. as long as it doesn't become a problem or habit then it's ok. but that can happen at any age. Especially if its in a controlled environment like a family dinner where your parents can regulate the amount. You can always try putting half sprite in there and it won't be as harsh.

My famiglia is very traditional Italians, and I started drinking wine at dinner at 8years old because my great grandpa made us. Granted it was always a small glass that would not make us drunk or buzzed. He stated that it was great for our health and he did as a young child so therefore so should we. He died at 98 years old so i think he did something right.

we always drank red wine, its good for your heart.

Still to this day I still enjoy the same wines my grandpa and great grandpa drank.

and i've never had a problem with excessive drinking or anything negative with alcohol. Be smart about it.

    piacere il vino

  8. I think its fine if you do it only only on a very very special occasion, like Christmas. And if you know what it is for, why you are having it, and how to be careful with it. I say only one glass(not even a full glass) only once a year to make it special. And you might not even like it. My mom let me have a sip of wine before and blech...

  9. nah, i dont think thats young at all, but drinking hard alcohol, then yeah you're wayy too young.

  10. Dude i started drinking VODKA and beer and stuff when i was 14, I started having wine at 10 , Yes 14 is an okay age to have some wine with DINNER

  11. Not too young! Especially if you're in a dinner setting.

    Enjoy!

  12. Yes, I think 14 is too young.

  13. No, you're not too young. Legally in the US you can't drink before you're 21 but laws do not always make sense. In your home, with your parents, protected from nosey neighbors and cops, a small glass of wine like you said would be good. If you get used to alcohol in moderate doses you'll learn to enjoy it without getting drunk. On the other hand, the US system where teens can't touch a drink (at least in theory!) until 21 result in so many horribly drunk college age guys, at an age where alcohol has lost its "magic appeal" to anybody who drank in moderation from an earlier age.

  14. Yes, too young.

  15. i am 27, and to this day, i have never had one single drop of alcohol.  when i get married someday, there will not be ANY champagne or alcohol of any sorts at my reception.  i think ANY age is too young for alcohol.  and to answer the obvious question.........yes i am still a virgin, and i will remain one, until the day i get married!

  16. If your parents are cool with it go ahead! I had my first sip of beer at age 2.

And too the people saying you are too young if you are in America, just cause some idiot made a stupid law that doesn't let parents make decisions for there family doesn't mean its wrong!
