Question:

1500 m Run on Friday!!?

Please help, can you give me some tips on how to keep going while running 1500m?!? ran 800m on friday and collapsed when I finished, I did this in 3:49 and im scarred that i'm not going to be able to finish the 1500m, can anyone give me some tips?!?

  1. Don't take off at your fastest speed, just go out at a decent clip and then find a rhythm that works for you. On your 2nd lap you need to find someone ahead of you and focus on passing, not just catching, him/her. Your third lap should be fast, don't worry about tireing yourself out because your last lap will take care of itself with all the adrenaline in your body. Good Luck!


  2. Pace yourself and then finish with a sprint, even when you think you're really tired often you can get more out of yourself!

  3. Always start off slowly even if everyone else speeds off because you will take them over as they wont be able to keep going that fast the whole way round. A few people will probably start walking. Keep a constant speed!

  4. Start a bit slower, and then focus on catching the people ahead of you, you can probably keep going for longer than 800m but do it a little slower (not lots slower of course)

    Thats about all that you can do in the short term.
