Where there seating arrangment separating 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class people in 1912 on trains?

  1. There most definitely were. There were separate carriages for 1st and 3rd class passengers - by 1912 2nd class had been abolished on most lines - it wasn't until the 1960s that this anomaly was removed when 3rd class was renamed 2nd.     which show respectively a renovated 3rd class and a renovated 1st class carriage both dating from the late 19th century but which would have still been running in 1912.
