I have a 1941 Silvertone radio from Sears & Roebuck. It's not in terrible shape. I might want to fix it up, but I don't know how hard it might be to find parts and info. I'm looking for a good website references about the radio and it's worth. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

  1. I have two friends who work on old radios, in northern California, so there are folks out there who do that. Not knowing what's wrong with the radio, I wouldn't guess how difficult it would be to fix. Tubes are the hard part, but some people still make them.

The sale price depends on the condition of the radio itself and of the cabinet. I would guess the bottom price for a working Silvertone would be about $150. The better looking the cabinet, the more it's worth.

  2. my husband has refurbished many old radios, he found manuals on them as well as parts on Ebay. Some of the tubes he had to buy for the older ones he was able to get through Radio Shack.

I found this site on google, it looks like the people that used to come to Lakewood Antiques market in Atlanta Georgia each year, but I'm not sure. He does list other links though for radios and parts. I looked for the business card the man gave my husband, but I have no idea where that could be now. maybe this will be a useful reference site.http://www.oldradioparts.com/
