1992 fzr 1000 knocking normal?

like it says it seems to knock a bit at idle but goes away when revving i heard this is how these engines sound is that true or should i be worried. btw it runs and drives perfect.

I would call the dealer and ask the question.Maybe you need to run premium in the engine.Good Luck.

You may need to run premium fuel in this bike.  I would try this first

You may be hearing some valve clatter.  You may need to have the valves adjusted.

This is a 16 year old sport bike.  The motor may simply be getting worn out and ready for an overhaul.  The noise you are hearing could be from worn bearings.
