How do you remove a 1995 ford f250 drivers side door panel. The door lever is stuck and I need to see what is wrong so I can fix it. Any ideas on what may have jammed the door handle will help.

  1. If you have power windows pull the switch plate straight up and it will pull out, unplug the wires.  If you have manual windows pull the crank cover away from the crank handle and remove the s***w.  Remove the screws along the bottom edge of the door, remove the s***w in the handle pocket, remove the s***w in the top towards the front of the panel, pop the reflector out with a small screwdriver and remove the s***w inside the light cavity.  Now loosen the door panel by carefully prying it away from the door with a door panel tool or a large flat screwdriver, once it is loose slide it up to release the top then slide it over the door handle.  To install it remove the top weatherstrip, it is held on with metal tabs, slip the panel over the door handle, hook the top edge and use the palm of you hand to pop the retainers back into the door, then replace all the hardware you took loose.  When it is back on roll the window down and slide the weather strip back into place.

The problem you are most likely expeirencing is a worn out handle mechanism, if you look at it carefully the pins are probably worn out.  Ford sells a kit that includes this mechanism, a new cable and a new latch.  Be sure to inspect the door sheet metal where the handle attaches, they are oftem broken from people yanking on the handle trying to open the door, if it is either weld it or install a small reenforcing plate behind the broken metal.
