1995 Mustang vs. 2000 Mustang?

Question

Both have V8 engines. Here is the two part question;

1. Please explain why 95's has 5.0 liters and 2000's has 4.6. Why less liters for a more recent model.

2. which has more performance, '95 stang or '00 stang?

they say the 5.0 is a great moder between 95 -96 in the cobra but i like the 4.6 better. most def if its a dual over head cam mach 1. which the mach would be faster

5.0's are older and have a lot less technology. It's just what they started out using back in the day and when they found out they could incorporate today's more advanced technology into a 4.6 and get much more horsepower and overall performance, that's what they did. A stock 00 GT will blow a stock 95 5.0 off the road any day. And I've owned 3 mustangs and driven probably about 10 in all different models and years, so that's coming from experience.

The 95 has an old style engine with 302 cubic inch displacement.  The 2000 has a newer designed engine with 281 cubic inches.  The 4.6 liter has more power because of the better parts inside the motor and a better fuel system.  The 2000 mustang will outperform the 95 stang.  Even though it is smaller it has more horsepower.
