1997 Ranger "FSS1"? Problem.?

Question

I"ve got a Code "FSS1" Code reading on a 1997 ranger 4.0 Reading "Open" What Does this stand for?

Also, Any details on the Codes:

p0171b

Would help helpful also.

The Problem is, My Ranger is running 500+ Degrees on the Left bank engine while the other side is running around 250. Anybody know whats up?

I am not sure what FSS1 is, Where are you receiving this code?

402 is Excessive EGR Flow, 171 is Lean bank 1, and 1506 is Idle Air Control Overspeed detected

Check to see if your EGR valve is sticking open or has Carbon stuck under the pintle.
