  1. what she said . Pekins are really cool.( and friendly!)

  2. I recommend getting the Pekin ducks. There easy to manage and are the ducks that I started out with. They are white and can get up to 7lbs or so. They are very friendly and dont really quack too much.

Make sure that you have the following......

SHelter, they need a coop, the coop shoudl be big enuff for them to roam in. They need to hve a nesting box that is low to the ground filled with straw. A dog house works fine as well. If you are getting ducklings which I reccommend, they need to be in a brooder, which is simply a cage like a rabbite cage liek this one http://newcastle.gumtree.com/posting_ima...

It is what I uses until mine were 1 month old. They get big fast. I let them outside to play when im ther and at night they stay in the cage. After they reach 1 month they can stay outside now. They also need access to feed and water. They need when they are babied duckling feed/ non medicated strter. When adults they need cracked corn. The babied can sart to eat the cracked corn at 1.5 months old. Buy a kiddy pool that is the plastic ones. The infladable ones can pop. And the hard palstic are low to the ground which they can get into easily.

An outside inclosure. Expecially if you arnt letting them out of the coop, so you can go out with them or let them eat grass and such. You can place kitty pool out there. The main coop needs to have a door on it, you can open it so they can go out in it and sun bathe. and stuff and befor dark you can let them back in. Mak esure you put a lock on the lil door that leads out and a barrier around it so that coons cant get them or hawks. In the outside put a door on it so you can clean up some and the inside one too.

You dont have to so this. If you have a fenced in back yard, you can let them loose in it. They get aong well with dogs. If they are with themw ehn younger. Then a shed can be there place to lay eggs and to sleep at. Lock up the doors and all you need to do is open it up to get eggs and clean and add a lil door so they can go and lay eggs.

Here are so coops that are nice that are ok to use.

all you need is something to that effect and ad a fence

ALSO I would recomend getting at least 2 instead of 1. They seem happier and not as social.
