I've never played on a team, and I was wondering if it would be easy to pick it up. I'm going out for mainly RB, and any other pos that I fit in. Also I'm 5'8 145 lbs, Fast/agile, and can take a lot of physical punishment. I still need to get my 40 timed before tryouts to see where I am at.

  1. Study the playbook as if there was going to be a major exam on it.  Also, hit the weight room hard.

  2. You will probably be behind others on the team as they have experience in organized football, as 10th grade or 15 yrs old is a late start. Your biggest concern will probably be the speed of the game at the organized level..  Still, don't get frustrated if the speed of the game may overwhelm you as you will just need some time to adjust. good luck

  3. if you can tolerate pain well, football is your sport. i broke both arms playing football. but that was on defense. watch out for the full backs if you are put on defense instead of offense.

  4. 5'8" 145 and you want to be a RB? If you are as fast and agile as you say then go out for cornerback or kick return. You will get jacked up as a RB.

  5. Study your playbook....I cannot stress that enough!
