hi im african american, 18 yrs old and this is the first time ive been sunburned. I went out crabing and fishing with some family members all day N ended up getting sunburned. I didnt realize it tilll i started to peel excessively. I was going to buy sunscreen like my real dad said until i was talked out of it. (thinking id be all right)

Well,T_T i was wondering what should i use to help with the pain and the peeling of the skin. and also whats the best sunscreen to use next time?

also, i was wondering how come though none of my family members and i didnt use sunscreen yet im the only one burned. I have dark brown skin n my mom is fair and my step dad has a gold olive complexion though neither of them were burned. is it b/c they're always in the sun? (i rarely go outside)

  1. it is a bit messy but get some fresh aloe vera leaves/spines and cut them open and spoon out the flesh and apply to burnt area. please note not to do this if the skin is broken or bleeding. another is to lay in a tea leaf bath.(just like a cup of tea in the bathtub but cold),you hop in it and soak for a while.

  2. SUNSCREEN!!  it doesn't matter what color you are.  for now, take advil for any fever, drink water, and moisturize well.  see your dermatologist annually.
