  1. I have an AIRE 2-person inflatable Kayak that I've been using for over 10 years now.  Very sturdy construction.  I've had it in class IV whitewater where it performed admirably, and have taken in on flatwater in Newbort Beach's back bay where it also performed well.  It is comfortable, and easy to carry and store.

I didn't see the model I have out there with a quick web search, it may have been discontinued.  But I saw a newer model that they call the 'Tomcat' which looks very similar.  Here's a web source:  http://www.coloradokayak.com/Store/Recre...

    Have fun and be safe!

  2. I recommend Old Town kayaks since their plastic holds up so well.  They have a few tandem models.  I would go for the Loon 15T

Also Wilderness Systems makes a few nice tandem kayaks too.  I know a few folks that have Tandem Pamlico kayaks and they like them very much.

  3. There isn't one.  Buy two cheaper, smaller kayaks.  WS sells great boats, along w/ many others.  I had a tandem and it drove me crazy (as well as every other person I know who's paddled with two).  I ended up getting two WS 12' Pamlicos and love 'em.  The price of the two smaller boats was comparable to one tandem.
