2 yr. old birthday party?

I'm planning my baby's party and seeing as I'm doing ti at home this yr I'm trying to save some money. i have no idea what to serve for anything. all i know is cake...lol. the parents will be coming also. and i also don't know what kinds of activities to do. please help. oh and the party is in February

whats your kids favorite thing or show?? base the party on that. Have like a cook out and grill some food for the guest have some chips, snacks and drinks. have a pinata(kids love flying candy or toys cuz they're young) if its hot enough have some water play. a small pool is great for little ones9but a very small pool with barley any water). ask what your kid wants to have.

I praise you on getting a "jump" start and saving money.  Just remember keep it simple and small.  It's easier on you and two year olds bore easily.  If you don't want the mess of cake and ice cream, have a "big cookie" with fruit!  Finger foods are easier for you to clean up and the little ones can feed themselves while mommies visit.  As for activities, bean bag toss in a large empty open box wrapped like a birthday package is fun.  Make a Birthday tent/fort and let the children crawl in and out.  Play an action video for them to sing/dance along with.  Just keep it simple, so you can enjoy it with your son/daughter.  Good Luck!

I'm not sure what your child likes but here is what we did for my son's 2nd birthday (in June). We wanted to keep it as inexpensive as possible too! We had cake, hot dogs, chips/dip and homemade ice cream. I bought some chocolate syrup and sprinkles for the kids to 'dress up' their ice cream. Since it was summer we set up a play area outside with the sandbox, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and outdoor riding toys. His 'theme' was construction so I made favor bags with a small construction tonka truck in them (we only had 6-7 kids, so that was only 7ish dollars), construction stickers, a sucker and some Cars themed fruit snacks.

In Febuary you could plan some kind of craft depending on what kind of theme you plan on doing. Even if you don't do a theme (we didn't for his first birthday) you could still do some kind of inexpensive craft that all of the kids could take home with them. I think that 2yos are just too small for 'games' so a small, easy craft would be a great idea.
