My 2000 Nissan Maxima has been giving me problems for a while now. It has 120000 miles and I recently changed the power steering hose and the radiator. Now about 3 months later before i turn on the car but all the lights are on the car makes a chirping sound and while im driving it does in about 2 minute intervals. i was thinking it was the fuel pump. also if i rev the engine in park or neutral and let go of the gas pedal it stalls out. maybe the o2 sensor. finally last week i was driving and notice it would stay in first gear, its an automatic care. i turned it off and it worked fine and does it every now and then.

thanx in advance for any answers.

  1. I recommend taking it to auto zone and let them test your battery and charging system and also get them to do a diagnostic check for codes. these are a free service. If an o2 sensor is the problem, it should show up with the diagnostic check! Low battery voltage, or bad alternator can cause many symptoms! Since you can get these checked for free, why not start there!

    Good luck!
