2002 Grand Prix Key gets stuck

Question

I have a 02 Grand Prix when I turn off the engine the key does not go all the way back to the position. This happens on and off. Have any ideas? Thanks

The linkage in the column seems to be sticking. No easy fix since the column needs to be dropped and since it has an air bag this could be dangerous
