cel went off and my scane tool cant see it any one know why

if it set....the code will be in the history. your scanner might not be able to access info unless the code is present with the light on.  thats the problem with cheaper scanners (like auto-zone). try a snap-on modis. they run about 7,000 just to show you the difference.

most check engine light problems will reset after a number of starts .it may have been because u may have left the gas cap off .if it was a hard code it would have stayed on .have whatever type of car you own taken to the factory out in your area it may still have a code in the ecu.
