What do I do to entertain him/her? I'm not sure if it's a boy or girl yet.

My son is 20 months and he loves to play kitchen and pretend to cook and turn the k***s and pretend to eat food.  He also likes to play with these toy dinosaurs and he'll make them roar and pretend to eat from his play cup or he likes to race or play tag and he likes to draw with crayons but he usually ends up eating them.

Give it a toy.

Look at it. If it is a boy, then it has a p***s. If it is a girl, then it has no p***s. Simple.

My 23 month old loves books.  She also loves chasing games where we chase her on our hands and knees.  She loves to go outside and play.  She really enjoys playing ball with us.  She loves to color and  play with play-do.  At this age just spending time with them is enough.

read little books to them, color, maybe blow bubbles,  go for walks in stroller, play out side go to the park and go swinging if u have a car, roll a ball back and forth, play patty cake, play with blocks just have a good time with them. keep them laughing as long as they are laughing your doing a good job. maybe a movie or 2 if parents are ok with them watching tv.

Books are a real popular item with my daughter.  Especially if they have something 'special'- puzzle pieces, 3d, tabs to open, etc.

She also really enjoys anything that she gets to open and explore.  Her favorite is a purse with cell phone, fake money, keys, lipstick, etc.  Since you don't know the s*x, I'd get a tupperware box and fill it with dollar store items.  You can sit with him or her and describe things (even if you are fully ignored, it will help break the ice).  You can round up to 2+ as you are picking items from the store.  This will help you determine what's age appropriate.
