  1. Get a true catback system. A muffler will not do anything for you car except make it loud. I have been working on 240sx's for 15 years. If you want to bolt the muffler on you can. You will need reducers to match the exhaust pipe to the muffler. You can get them at most auto parts stores.

Come on John Paul look it up you NEVER want any back pressure in a car. It is all about exhaust pulses. A name brand full catback exhaust system has been tested to make power and sound good.

The best exhaust out there for the 240sx is the Apexi GT it is a 3.75" catback. SCC Mag tested it years ago and found it made 12hp with just a slight loss to the low end. I have it on my 97 240sx and can vouch for its quality.

In the long run the KA engine is a horrible engine to get power of without a turbo. The only people to get more then 200whp out of it spend close to $10,000. You can build a simple turbo kit for $1500 (or less if you know your stuff) With a simple turbo kit you can drive on 250whp for years and years.

  2. Some time larger diameter is not better. The difference in one inch is approx 3 times as much flow. So with out some back pressure and to much flow your engine might actually run worse. You need to talk to the muffler shop guys and see what they can work to make your 2.4 liter flow corectly
