2nd child 1st time breast feeder? ?

i am interested in using my breast milk to feed my son due in november. i want to pump only. Will my hospital allow this? Will they rent me a breast pump? i never breastfed my daughter. i want to monitor how much he drinks and i need him to take a bottle because my husband will be home more than i will and i want the transition to be easy. what options do i have? i have been trying to research on line but i have hit dead ends. please help.

pumping alone wont keep your milk supply up you need to breast feed and pump.

Why don't you want to breast feed and pump many women do both breast feed then p[ump when there not there so some one else can feed the baby

I breastfed my daughter when she was a newborn.  However, when I returned to work and tried pumping, my milk dried up.  Many women experience the same thing.  Our bodies are designed to produce milk based on the way an infant suckles and a pump doesn't give the same sensation.  So just be aware that pumping alone might not work.  The hospital should have someone on staff to assist you with any breast feeding questions you have once the baby is born.  Otherwise, have you tried to search for le leche or another lactation website?
