Check this for the wiring diagram to wire those subs down. You will find all the info you need to know about how to get this done at this site. To get you r 3 subs down to a 1 OHM load they will have needed to be 6 OHM to start with, other wise they will be less than 1 OHM. So you need to know if that amp is stable under less than a 1 OHM load. As for an amp to be stabel when unde 1 OHM look into US AMPS. Since they have sponsered the people that have been winning audio comps for the last 4 or 5 years on the National level, not a local level.

As for needing more than 1 amp for the subs, whoever tells you that you need more than 1 amp is an idiot and does not know what they are talking about. The only thing that multipule amps for your subs is going to do is put that much more of a load on your cars electrical system, nothing more. So use 1 amp and make sure it has enough power to get 750 watts to each sub. Now I will suggest that you do the Big 3 upgrade, and eventually getting the H.O. alternator.  On that same link (except on their home page) click on the blog link, and then select 12V. In there you will scroll down and their is a tutorial on how to do the Big 3 upgrade, h**l they also have a tutorial on how to make your own RCA cables.

  2. Wiring to 1 ohm... make sure the amp is stable down to 1 ohm..

now also I would need to know the specs of the speaker. I will assume dual voice coil 4ohm subs...

I do not suggest trying to down them to 1 ohm.. maybe 2 ohms but not 1..

You should use three amps, each around 750 or 850 watts each (suggesting Kicker or MTX amp) and wire each dual voice coil sub in parallel (2 ohms load if this is a 4ohm sub)

You will need a hefty power cord with a three way split at the end.

the amps should be a class d for best bass... and mono

the drain on your alternator will be ridiculous, so I suggest a new high output alternator. also, you should replace the alternator and battery wiring with higher quality and better gauge wiring (known as the big 3)

the battery you have would work, but if the amps kick on when you start like most people set them to do, then I suggest a deep cycle battery, such as yellow top optima or another brand. this will reduce the chance of a battery drain if the power is on without the car running.

also, I assume this is a large vehicle? most vehicles just don't have the air space to run 3 15's properly.. let alone the room to house the boxes..

were talking 15 cubic feet of volume for 3 15's in a sealed box, and 18 cubic feet for a vented box.. not to mention the need for cubic feet outside the box..

you will most definitely need some sound dampening and probably some new door and trunk seals..

  3. 3 type r 15s is some very serious power and an excellent choice.....however that WILL require one h**l of an amp but the cheaper way to go would probably be two class d mono amps...youre talking 2250 watts rms so you will of course need the thickest ground and power wire available, an alternator upgrade, a big three upgrade(see the 12 volt.com about the big three) and i would further suggest a deep cycle battery...you should expect to spend at least another grand..those type rs require a lot of power and the results will be worth it.......competition worthy i would think....are the three subs dual 2 ohm or dual 4?
