Is it a good deal for a 2002 Lexus ES 300 with a navigation system and loaded for $12,600? It's pearl white and has ~116350 miles. Exterior cosmetic condition is like new, tires need to be changed, and interior (leather) needs to be cleaned. Thanks!

  1. Hold firm. He's actually asking about $3000-4000 too much. http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingR...

The car falls under the "fair" rating (because of the tires, interior, etc) of about $8700. Replaced engine drops the value. Color has nothing to do with price unless he had it painted and even then it wouldn't make much of a difference unless he did something exotic. If it needs new tires, there's $1000 you have to pony up. He can be the most honest guy ever but his car is only worth what it's worth. Print that website and tell him to face it or you'll give your business to someone else.

  2. Since the mileage is high the price should drop a little more, like around 10,000 dollars.  check that they did the 100,000 miles tun-up where they replace almost all parts in the engine.

  3. If the car was so popular, the guy would not have that one sitting around!

Get a similar v6 Camry and you pay less as that would not have the Lexus price premium attached to it.
