  1. 1. Spain is the second highest country in Europe, after Switzerland. The highest mountain is Pico de Teide, 3,719 m, which is not in Europe but in Tenerife.

    2. Spain still has two colonies, Ceuta and Melilia. They are on the north coast of Morocco. This makes their claims over Gibraltar look not so clever. They also own Llivia which is completely surrounded by France.

    3. Many years ago in the town of Buñol, some lads pelted each other with tomatoes. Why? nobody can remember, but last year, thousands of people turned up, as they do every year to throw tomatoes at each other!

    4. Neanderthal man should really be called Gibraltar man, because that´s where he was first discovered.

    Correction. He was first discovered in Belgium, then in a quarry in Gibraltar. Where else would you find a stone age guy?. I am guilty of not checking this out. I was told this in Gib. Sorry!

    Once again......Barcelona Airport for Barcelona, (not surprisingly), Girona for the Costa Brava, Reus for Tarragona, Salou and Port Aventura. Otherwise you take longer in the bus than flying!

  3. We don't wear flamenco dresses everyday as some people think, lol ( quite uncomfortable to be honest! ) We do work, we have a bad name about being lazy but most of us work hard and long hours. Our timetables are totally different to yours, everyday life here starts later, shops open later, we have lunch later, we go to bed later and we go clubbing very late too to the point that some people get back home in the light of the new day. Spanish food is quite healthy in general and also cheap. Tapas are still the star meal!

    A law has just been passsed to ban one of the many revolting festivals they have there that involve torturing and killing animals. For some sick reason, at this place on the coast,they clip the wings of ducks so they can't fly and then throw them into the sea. Then a whole bunch of people jump in and try to grab the ducks, tearing themto pieces whilst they are at it. Nice? Spain has many of these nasty ways of having fun, I have no ida why.

    I have another one - Picasso was Spanish. Not very interesting though.
