  1. i had the same problem when i was young my mother took me to the doctor and he flushed it out my ear was better afterwards

  2. Ear drops can clear a plug of wax. You can buy drops from the chemist.

Warm the drops to room temperature before using them. (Let the bottle stand in the room for about half an hour.) Pour a few drops into the affected ear. Lie with the affected ear uppermost when putting in drops. Stay like this for 2-3 minutes to allow the drops to soak into the wax. The wax is softened, and it often breaks up if you put drops in 3-4 times a day for 5-7 days. the dry wax will normally fall out bit by bit.

Failing that talk to your healthcare professional about Ear syringing

  3. my son has the same problem, his ear wax is very dark coloured.

I was told by an expert to use warm olive oil on cotton wool and place in the ear to soften the wax and not to use ear buds as they can create infections.

  4. I think Yahoo put your question here because of your user name.  But obviously they need to improve their process for category selection.

You could call your pediatrician and see if they can recommend an OTC treatment.  There are commercially available ear wax softeners that you gently squirt into the ear with a rubber syringe.  However, it might not be a bad idea to take her into the doctor this time, and have him or her show you how to properly remove wax impaction.

  5. Well given the category you put the question in - you could plant some seeds in it!

Or try a few drops of olive oil to soften the wax - don't poke at it.  If it doesn't show some improvement in 48 hours check with the doctor.   there could be some underlying infection.

  6. Go to the pediatrician and have her ears syringed.  It's easy, painless and a big plug of wax will come out.  Common for kids, even adults.

  7. if the child will lay still you might try using a ear candle I have found that this works really well, a few drop of warm not hot mineral oil in the ear, a cotton ball to hold the oil in should melt the wax if this doesn'tt work take the child to the doctor to have the ear irrigated.

  8. go to the pediatrician and have her ear wax flushed.
