Check out Onkyo HTSR800 crutchfield has it listed for $450 so look for a sale to cut down on the price.  Onkyo makes great products.  This is a top rated Out of The box system (Consumer Reports)

Another one is the Sony HT7100DH which is a little cheaper than the Onkyo.  It is also a great system.
