  1. Sam Peter is a lazy boxer.  He could be better but he tends to ''Toot his own horn".  He has scored a few KO's but has not figured out that you have to TRAIN to Keep up to Form.

Peter has below average Stamina.  He has decent power but his punches are sloppy.  He would be taken apart rather easily by a sharp shooter like Larry Holmes.  Lennox Lewis could beat him either way, Blow him away or Pick him apart.  He's THERE to be hit.

A Good Jab is Key to beating Peter because his punches are wide and telegraphed.  A younger Holyfield would also beat him rather easily, though he runs the risk of mixing it up with Peter and getting hurt.  Evander had too much heart for his own good and often abandoned his boxing ability in order to slug.

Sam Peter is NOT very difficult to beat.  Vladimir Klitschko was OUT ON HIS FEET, yet was smart enough (Thanks to Manny Stewart) to hand in there and take a decision.  The fight was Peter's to lose and that's exactly what he did.

  2. You box him as he's a slugger.  The old boxing saying is you box a slugger, and fight a boxer.  You also have to once in a while, pick your spots and land some clean, hard shots to the chin.

  3. A quick jab, decent speed.  Peter is ponderous

  4. All you need to do is look at what McCline did to him. McCline is not really known as that hard a hitter, and he nearly had Peter out. Try and get to his chin. Hit him early, and hard, and see what happens. If the fight goes into the last 4 rounds, use mobility and good movement. David Haye has a powerful dig and good athleticism and movement for a man his size, so it would be interesting to see the outome if Haye fought Peter.

    Adios.

  5. I would say the best way to beat Sam Peter would be to box him, and I mean that in the fundamental sense of the word.  Peter doesn't dodge a lot of punches.  Peter throws a good amount of punches, and there is not a lot of speed behind them.  I would recommend getting your jab working early, careful to stay away from the big power shots.  Peter gets tired in the later rounds and this is where you can beat him.  In the later rounds he will throw slower punches, and leave himself open for counter punches (see the James Toney fights).  I believe that the later rounds is the time to capitalize on Sam Peter.
