  1. Usually when you are in front row and your team is serving, you get switched to the middle as soon as your server contacts the ball, and you should be the one up at the net.

If your team is serve-receiving, it will be up to your coach to say whether you should switch on your first pass. Most teams would focus on getting the first pass before doing "any" switch, but teams playing at higher level would definitely switch during the first pass... whoever not passing should get switched.

Generally speaking when you are in your "base" (middle), you should be up and ready to block. If you haven't switched, whoever stationing in your base should go up and do "your job" :)

  2. okay frist of all every team is ddifferent u should probably ask your coach but if u are left front and the setter is back row the setter will push u up to the net.if u are in the middle u stay at the ten foot line and help pass. if u are at right side u stay at the ten foot line and pass, after the ball is served run to the middle to hit (if at higher level)

  3. it really depends on the people you're playing with, but i've always found that in most situations everyone runs around the middle. we're special :)
