  1. Just remember, everything in the 60's was large, bright graphics.  They loved bold colors!   If you want your room to look more black and white, paint the furniture black and your bed bright white.

    Here's some ideas:

Just remember, bold solid colors and bold patterns in solid colors....that's the 1960's!

  2. The "Twiggy" style is called mod.

Here are some examples of mod rooms:

For more inspiration, watch James Bond movies from the sixties, or Austin Powers. When you google mod decor, tons of stuff comes up so take a look at that. Ikea would be a good place to think about getting mod furniture - they carry lots of sixties inspired stuff. Then stick to one or two colors that you want to be the theme and choose sixties inspired stuff - egg chairs, bean bags chairs, lava lamps, shag carpet, etc. Or for a more elegant look, just choose very mod furniture in soft gray and white tones and keep everything very sleek with pops of color in pillows and wall art. If you want to do black and white, I LOVE this room:

You could do black white and red or do black and white with another color to make it less expected. Keep furniture simple, sophisticated, and balanced with some bright pops of color. Good luck and I hope this helped!

  3. If you're looking for the Carnaby Street, Mary Quant, Biba look-- then you might want to check out some books at the library on that era and on the Biba department store, in particular. It was kind of a vintage deco look.

If you want the more sleek modern 60's vibe, then just sticking to geometric patterns and the chocolate, turquoise, silver, and white color pallete would do the trick for you. Anything super sleek and modern with a deep shag area rug would be great.

    Good luck!! : )
