I'm having my daughters 6th birthday in August and have bought a big package for a cowgirl theme patry. What would be some good ideas for games, or something to keep them occupied? And how long should I hold the party? 2 hours? 3 hours?

  1. the party should be fore 3 hours.

    and definitely play country music

    buy a pinata ! (:

Cowboy - Cowgirl Birthday Party Invitations:

    Send horseshoe shaped invitations:

    "Yee-Haw ____is celebrating a Birthday.

Y'all come on down for some playing,

dancing and good old western grub! "

Cowboy Treats and Birthday Cake Ideas

Serve up hot dogs, beans, corn on the cob and corn bread.

A bottle of sarsaparilla (root beer), or a Roy Rogers will quench any

cowgirl or cowboy's thirst!  Decorate a sheet cake with cowboy or horse figures.

    Rodeo Games

Tin can shoot played with empty pop bottles and a squirt gun.

Place three cans on a bench and take turns with the water gun.

Pin the "tail on the horse", "badge on the sheriff ", cowboy hat on the etc.

Have a rope tying contest with licorice, or real ropes.

Galloping horse relay, with brooms and a challenge course.

Use bails of hay and saw horses for fun obstacles.

Boot Toss - use large cowboy boots and bean bags. The children will try

to toss the bean bags into the boots. Or, use a large cowboy hat.

Penny in a hay stack - hide pennies, small toy horses, and other cowboy

other items in a pile of hay...then kids will pile in to find them!

A game of horseshoes of course!

Rattle snake tag. Play just as you would a game of tag, but the player

who is "IT", will hiss like a snake. The child who tagged by the snake, can

be out or becomes the new snake. Players receive a toy snake prize.

    GOOD LUCK!

  2. I am not sure of your space or budget but a pony rented for an hour or less would be awesome and would fit the theme. My little cousin had a cowgirl theme and they rented a pony. We took a picture of each kid on the pony with their hats and printed them out and gave them to the kids before they left as a party gift with their goody bags.

    GOODLUCK!

  3. you should do a hunt for candy or something. hide loads of candy everywhere and whoever finds the most wins :)

oo and get a pinata (wrong spelling!), you know that thing you hit thats full of candy.

You could also play "statues". its when you dance to music and when the music stops you have to freeze. If you move then you are out of the game.

And you gotta play pass the parcel too :D
