7.62x54 mosin?

im thinking about buying a mosin nagant. i need help with model choice, under $150, and how expensive is 7.62x54 ammunition?

Last week I shot a 3 inch diameter clay target at 100 yards or a full football field away on first try with a Mosine 91/30. The Mosine has gone through more than 50 years of upgrades & is pretty close to being perfect.
There are nearly 17 million of these rifles (never been shot) in warehouses in Russia.
Be sure to get a new one that still has the cosmoline preservative on it.
Then, clean it inside-out with gun cleaner & gun lube. Mosines are nearly perfect right out of the crate. You may have to adjust the front sight if it shoots a little left or right. A Mosine will shoot as accurately as any scoped rifle that there is using only the iron sights. It's a matter of practice, like riding a bicycle. Once you get good with your Mosine, you never forget how to shoot it. For looks it gets a "B" but for accuracy straight AAAAs....Alfred Schrader
