720p lifespan question?

How long before 720p is no longer used? If i buy one now, will it be no good in a few years? any help is appreciated, thanks

  1. You don't need to worry about the lifetime of 720p sets. They are fully compatible with Blu-ray (the Blu-ray players detect the display resolution and adjust accordingly) and other hi-def sources such as Sky HD. I have a 720p set bought two years ago (blu-ray player added 5 months ago), and I have no complaints. I won't be changing for many a year because I have no need to. The average viewer would be hard pressed from normal viewing distance to detect the picture difference between 720p and the higher 1080p resolution. There is a lot of life left in your set, so don't worry.


  2. depends is it lcd or plasma,do you play games or no!? if lcd then it will last longer regardless if you play video games or not,if plasma it can last long but only if you dont play the games!
