  1. You should read your textbook.  You're never going to honestly complete your education by cheating.

  2. Im in eighth grade but that's harddddd.

    Too hard.

  3. ok here we go maddi i had to do this 2 years ago for sience also it sucked but its not that had

to determin the hardness you use a strike plate it will leave a color mark on it

A strike place it just a standard ceramic tile

U can also u a nail coin and other harder materials

So for number 1 start out with a strike plate and a mineral and stripe the plate with it, if the plate has the make the mineral is harder than 6 if the mineral has a mark on it the scratch plate is a harder material so the mineral would have a harness less than 6

2 If i rember wien you strike quarts its a white mark and when you stike sulfer it leaves a yellow mark

3 hard to determin becasue the have the same hardness

    hope it helps

  4. homework already? wow I'll try and remember some of this stuff,

hardness is determined by umm I think cracking like rubbing it against a hard surface and waiting to see if it cracks (no joke i do remember some of this and im a freshman in college)

quartz does not leave behind any colour

the streak is not dark enough? omg...im sorry but its something along those lines

  5. 1. you wouldn't need to determine the exact hardness of the rock, but they ask you to scratch it upon a glass plate and tell if its harder of softer than it, but if you would need to determine the exact hardness, you should either look it up or if you have a chart then you can refer to that.

    2. Sulfur is yellow, and it is the only rock that is yellow, but quartz can be white, pink, yellow, gray, etc, depending on impurities of the mineral, so it is difficult to tell identify quartz.

    3. The streak of corundum is clear-white, so it would be difficult to see, as a streak plate is white.

    hope i could help!!!
