A Question about Ovulation Cramps???

Well, my question is when you get cramps or feelings in your ovaries when you ovulate does it only happen in one ovary (on one side) or both??

Also, when you are pregnant, and you feel those twinges, like when your ligaments and uterus are stretching and stuff, I know you get them around the ovary area, but has anyone ever gotten them at the crease of their thigh and pubic area (very low abdominal area), on both sides too???

Thanks!!

  1. For the first part of your question, you only have one ovulation per period, and your ovaries take it in turns to send an egg out (so month 1=right ovary, month 2=left ovary, month 3=right ovary etc).  A good way to comfort cramps is to have a hot water bottle or a pillow and hug is gently against your stomach.

For the second part of your question I have never heard of it personally (although i have never been pregnant so I can't be sure).  Speak to your doctor if it persists (or has persisted) for more than 3 days just in case something is wrong.

    Goodluck!

  2. I dont know about the low abdominal area but I know when I ovulate because I can feel it. It is usually for me on only one side. It can change sides each and every month thou if you ovulate every month in which case I dont, so I know when it actually does happen. Cramps on one side for about a whole day
