I started to read catwoman comic but i dont want to start from the old Selina Kyle stories.When does Holly Robinson become catwoman? In wikipeda is said that in issue 51 but what does that mean? Because there are several versons...

Holly first appears as Catwoman in Catwoman #53

However, if you want to know her backstory then I suggest you read Batman: Year One  which first introduces her character and describes her relationship with Selina.

I personally prefer Selina as catwoman but the Holly story is interesting.

I have brought last 40 years of X-MEN on DVD-ROM. I read it all. They repeat the story like every 10 year. Comic change the stories and details of stories to make it better. It all depends which 10 year cycles of story you are reading.

Just explain, how several versons of stories come from. They don't tell story for 40 years. they repeat the story with change to it.
