  1. 10,000 songs would require 40 gigabytes, assuming you used a bitrate of 128kbps (generally considered the minimum for acceptable quality) and the average song length was no higher than 4mins 21secs.

A higher bitrate, or higher average song length, would need more gigabytes.

The current models of iPod touch hold a maximum of 32 gigabytes, which is close to what you need (8000 songs according to the criteria mentioned above). Other than that, your only option is an iPod Classic (80 gigabytes or 160 gigabytes).

  2. depends on the length of the song

    a 2.5 min-3.5 min song is usually 3-4 megs

now u mulitply that by tenthousand

    so 40,000 megs

if they are all 3.00 minute songs

one gigabite is roughly 1,100 megs

so you need at least 30 megs to get that many songs

i saw a 32gig ipod touch at walmart the other day for 500

    heres a link to amazon

  3. The rule of thumb is 250 songs per gigabyte. 10,000 songs would be about 40gb, without videos and pictures of course. The closest to that is 32gb for $499.99 and 7,000 songs.
