A couple of rabbit questions.

I have a year and a half old mini Rex named Peter. Lately he has completely stopped eating his timothy hay. I still give it to him but all he does is dig it out of his bowl and leave it on the floor of his cage. Is he ok with going without or should I buy him something else that is like timothy hay?

Also lately he has been digging holes in the dirt when I take him outside for his daily run in the yard. He digs it just deep and long enough for him to flop down on top of it. I was wondering if this is normal and he just likes his belly to hang inside the hole?

  1. The digging can be normal, some rabbits have a digging obsession.

Not sure about the timothy hay.

maybe add a bit of some new fruits/veggies/alphalfa just a -little- to his diet for some new food choices. not to much though alphlafa, it is rich.

  2. i think it is i used to have a rabbit and it didn't like to eat that kind of stuff so we just fed it fruits and lettuce and carrots
